As an ex Navy man I fully believe that in all the world there is no greater way to honor your country than by giving your life in its defense. In the USA, the members of the US Armed Forces are the leading edge of our defense across the globe and know all too well the consequences they place themselves in front of for that reason. Along with the Armed forces, on the Home-front are the Men and Women of the Emergency Services who place themselves in harms way every day, to help their brothers and sisters in need when disaster strikes. The many passers-by who without thought offer help in extreme situations are also none the less to be recognized for their heroism as well.
I stand, salute and offer a moment of silence in prayer to all of those heroes who gave their all in an effort to help thousands of their brothers and sisters 13 years ago today, to honor them and the memories of all who lost their lives on that tragic day.
“Without compassion... society fails.”
